Working for Harvey
Shopfitters
We currently employ more than 100 people in
a variety of full-time roles in our
offices and workshop facilities at our
Bristol headquarters, our regional office in
Scotland, as well as the specialist trades
that comprise our on-site installation
teams.
We maintain a permanent staff representing
all the essential trades, together with the
management and professional disciplines that
are relevant to our operations; including
carpenters, joiners, site foremen, contracts
managers & project managers. These in-house
resources facilitate smooth, efficient
deployment on projects, whilst also being
vital to maintaining the quality and
standards of our work.
As we operate throughout the UK all our employees
must be prepared to spend periods working
away from home and are expected to work
out-of-hours where projects require it.
It is our policy to provide ongoing training
and development for our staff to improve
skill levels and qualifications, as well as
creating opportunities for career
progression within the company.
Apprenticeship programme
A central feature of our recruitment
strategy includes an annual
apprenticeship programme. Although
generally focused upon school
leavers the programme is also open
to graduate trainees and mature
entrants looking to make a career
change.
Our apprenticeship programme is
based upon a 3-year CITB scheme
leading to NVQ Level 3. Entrance is
conditional upon successful
completion of an initial 12-month
training period in our workshops
(with a dedicated tradesperson as
mentor) and also passing the CITB
entrance exam.
Year 1 of the apprenticeship is
spent within our workshop with day
release to college; years 2 & 3 are
site-based with block release. We
regularly check on performance from
college and expect 100% attendance,
course work delivered on time, and a
positive attitude.
Interviews for our apprenticeship
programme take place in early July
with training starting September.

for our apprenticeship programme please

Michael Hodge, one of our year 3 apprentices, has reached the regional stage of the Skill Build South West competition. Michael was nominated for the
competition by his tutor at Ashley Down College in recognition of the exceptional skills and capabilities he has demonstrated in carpentry during his college training.
